This lady has a phenomenon called "recirculation" in which the flow of the mucus is blocked from reaching the "natural opening" and thus recirculates around the opening instead of draining properly.

A nasty bacterial infection was found in the left maxillary sinus. This poor soul had had multiple sinus surgeries, but at least the sinus was accessible for the Booger Bandit to do his job. The infection was cleaned out and remained clear after culture-directed antibiotics. This massive nasal polyp was completely blocking up the nose, but the Booger Bandit was up to the task. These sinuses are filled with crusts and infection from methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection. The Booger Bandit has his work cut out for him here. This poor lady had Pseudomonas aeruginosa stuck in her right maxillary sinus. She had had sinus surgery in the past, so I went in to get it. No more 'monas; no more foul smell and nasal congestion!
